[Last night, NBC Nightly News had a segment on the suffering of children in Gaza. It is heartbreaking to see children suffering anywhere, for any reason. But the only thing I could think of is why don’t the Palestinians lay down their arms and stop fighting Israel? Instead of chanting, “From the River to the Sea” they should be chanting, “We’re very sorry — please forgive us.”

Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan finally surrendered, albeit after millions of their people were killed and their countries destroyed. But at that point they realized that their war was over, and they said sorry and begged for forgiveness. The Palestinians need to do the same. They need to come to us on their knees and beg us to forgive them for murdering our children and grandparents, raping our wives and daughters, mutilating, beheading, burning our brothers and sisters in their homes and peaceful gatherings. They need to return the hostages they took, whom they have brutalized and tortured for over 100 days – and beg us, and them, for forgiveness.

If they truly say sorry, the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will forgive them. Because all we really want is to live in peace, with our neighbors. But instead of begging for forgiveness they continue to fire rockets at us. And they continue to torture and rape our brothers and sisters in captivity. And they continue to pledge to destroy us, and teach their children to do the same.

Iran is willing to fight to the last Palestinian. Unless the Palestinians wake up to their reality, admit their mistakes, ask for forgiveness and pledge to live in peace, Israel simply has no choice but to continue its war against Hamas until it is eliminated. And children in Gaza will continue to suffer.

It’s time for the Palestinians to say sorry. Without that, there can never be peace. ]

Over this past week, Israel hasn’t been on the front page of the major US papers or the lead story on the nightly news. While that’s probably a good thing, it shouldn’t lull us into a sense of normalcy and complacency.

– There are still over 100 Israeli hostages held captive in Gaza (for over 100 days), being starved, tortured, sexually assaulted, psychologically tormented, denied proper medical treatment or medication — who must be brought home.

– Israeli soldiers are being killed and wounded daily, while fighting to destroy Hamas and bring safety to Israel and the entire free world.

– Over 250,000 Israelis are still displayed from their homes in the north and south.

– Attacks by Hezbollah against northern Israel continue on a daily basis.

– Hezbollah continues to maintain its stockpile of over 150,000 modern rockets aimed at Israel which, if used en masse, would overwhelm Israel’s missile defenses and cause unthinkable carnage and destruction.

– Over 200,000 men are away from their families, fighting and standing guard in the north and south, as well as in Judea and Samaria — creating an economic crisis in Israel.

Israel is still at war and Israelis are experience massive stress and trauma. We need to continue doing all we can to help, whether it is through donations, volunteering, prayer, demonstrations and simply making sure that people know the truth about what is happening there.

The IsraelAM Iphone App [Why we did it]

We just released the first version of the IsraelAM iphone app in the Apple app store. Since 2015 (hard to believe it’s been almost 9 years) we’ve been publishing our email newsletter to a growing list of over 13,000 subscribers that we slowly earned over the years, mostly through word of mouth and a Google ads grant for non-profits.

We always planned to keep IsraelAM as an email newsletter. As they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. So why did we decide to launch an app now?

Here are a few reasons:

Younger Readers

Many younger readers are simply not using email, unless they absolutely have to. Instead, they’re texting, messaging, posting and using their phone apps to communicate and get their news and information. In the wake of Oct. 7, the ongoing war against Hamas and the spike in antisemitic rhetoric emanating from our university populations, we saw a pressing need to reach the younger generation — on their iphones.

Email Delivery

Over the years, the email hosts we all use to get our email (like gmail) have gotten much more vigilant in fighting spam. Unfortunately, non-spam emails often get caught in those filters. Once an email gets flagged as spam and thrown into your junk folder, it’s almost impossible to get it out of there unless you manually retrieve it and mark it as non spam. We get emails from readers who ask us why they haven’t received our newsletter in a while, and the answer is usually that they are receiving it — but it’s ending up in their spam or junk folder. Most people will just give up and forget about us if they don’t seem the email for a few days. And so ends our relationship :(

With the new iphone app, you’ll never have to worry about missing a newsletter issue!

Greater Reach

Being in the Apple app store gives us the opportunity to be found by some of the 650 million people who visit the store every week, world wide. That’s a lot of potential readers whom we can inform and educate about the truth of what’s happening in the Israel.

Real Time Potential

The app gives us a lot of potential options to update you about breaking news or other Israel related features in real time, through push notifications (if you give us permission) and through posting on the app.

How You Can Help

Here are a few things you can do to help us reach more readers:

  • Download the app
  • Rate and review
  • Share with your kids, friends, co-workers
  • Share on social media

A few people have asked us if we’re going to launch an Android app?

The answer is yes, we are planning to — but it’s much more difficult and time consuming to launch an app in the Google Play store than it is in the Apple app store, so it might take some time.
