According to a Wall Street Journal report, Iran has been threatening Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and Jordan with severe consequences if they participate in, or allow the use of their territory or airspace as a staging area, for an attack on Iran. Iran’s Foreign Minister visited Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states for talks on Wednesday.
A foreign worker driving a tractor was killed by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah today. Two other workers were injured in the attack. The IDF said that it killed Hezbollah’s commander of the anti-tank missile force in South Lebanon, in an air strike. Hezbollah reportedly fired 190 rockets at northern Israel on Thursday. IDF forces intercepted several drones.
Three IDF soldiers killed in an explosion in northern Gaza:
– Master Sergeant (Res.) Ori Moshe Borenstein, 32, from Moreshet, commander in the 5460 Administrative Support Unit, ‘Bnei Or’ Division (460).
– Major (Res.) Netanel Hershkovitz, 37, from Jerusalem, deputy company commander in the 5460 Administrative Support Unit, ‘Bnei Or’ Division (460).
– Master Sergeant (Res.) Tzvi Matityahu Marantz, 32, from Bnei Adam, platoon commander in the 5460 Administrative Support Unit, ‘Bnei Or’ Division (460).
Israeli state-owned defense company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems will unveil unmanned air defense systems designed to provide ground troops with comprehensive protection and lethal capabilities, at a U.S. Army show on Monday. The solution includes the laser-based Lite Beam system and the 30 mm Samson remote weapon system, mounted on four-wheeled vehicles. These give ground forces broad and flexible protection against advanced aerial threats such as UAVs.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian President Masoud Pajakhian in Turkmenistan. They discussed strengthening economic ties between their countries and are reportedly close to signing a strategic partnership agreement.
Tonight begins the holy day of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It is a day of fasting and prayer, when we ask God to forgive us and grant us atonement for our sins so that we may be sealed in the Book of Life. We also ask forgiveness from people that we have wronged. May this Yom Kippur be the catalyst to unite us so that we may triumph over evil and bring peace to Israel and the world.
