Prime Minister Netanyahu gave his first interview to an Israeli media outlet, Channel 14, since October 7. Netanyahu said that he would not agree to a complete cease-fire with Hamas, which is one of their requirements to agree to a hostage deal. He said, “No. I’m not prepared to end the war and leave Hamas in place. I am prepared to do a partial deal, that’s no secret, that would return some of the hostages to us.” The Prime Minister’s statement about being prepared to do a partial deal triggered anger from the families of the hostages. Netanyahu said that the phase of intense fighting in Rafah would end within a month, which would allow Israel to transfer forces to the north, but that the war against Hamas would continue. The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement after the interview that said: “It is Hamas which opposes a deal, not Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu has made it clear that we will not leave Gaza until we return all 120 of our hostages, living and deceased.” For more, click here.
