Two IDF soldiers from the Alexandroni Brigade’s 9203rd Battalion were killed yesterday in a mortar attack near Gaza City. the soldiers were, Sgt. First Class (res.) Omer Smadga, 25, from Genot Hadar and Sgt. First Class (res.) Saadia Yaakov Dery, 27, from Tel Aviv. Three other soldiers were seriously wounded in the attack. Combat continues in Rafah as IDF forces move to complete the capture of the entire city. Forces are firing from the air, sea and ground.
Israel has confirmed that 18 hostages have been murdered or killed in captivity, some most likely as a result of IDF fire. 60 hostages have been confirmed to have been murdered on Oct. 7. The IDF has retrieved 19 bodies. For more, click here.
