News Update

Today is Yom Ha’atzmaut – Independence Day – marking the 76th year since the State of Israel was declared in 1948.

As we celebrate the first Jewish, independent, country in the land of Israel since 70 C.E., IDF troops are moving into western Rafah and operating in Gaza City and in other areas of Gaza, at least 128 hostages are in Hamas captivity, Hezbollah rocket and drone attacks continue to keep 100,000 Israelis from their homes in the north, thousands of Israelis remain displaced from the homes near the Gaza border, President Biden is threatening to withhold arms shipments, and the entire world has turned against Israel and is trying to force her to surrender to Hamas and accept the establishment of an independent terrorist state by its side, whose ultimate goal is to control all of the territory “From the River to the Sea”.

But despite this gloomy picture, let’s take a moment to focus on the miracle of Israel. We see with our own eyes the words of the Prophets coming to life — the return of the Jewish people to their homeland from the 4 corners of the world, the liberation and reunification of Jerusalem and the re-establishment of the holy city as the eternal capital of the Jewish nation, the formation of the most powerful, and ethical, military in the Middle East, the creation of one of the premier centers of technology, science, medicine, culture in the world.

We still have a ways to go to reach the complete fulfillment of the prophecies that promise a messianic age of peace and unity under a single banner of faith and spirituality for all the people of the world — but we are well on our way, as long as we stay on the right path and make the right decisions.

May we merit the wisdom and courage to choose the path to ultimate redemption.
