News Update

Yesterday the IAF struck a Hezbollah infrastructure site in the Dahieh area of Beirut, which was used to store precision missiles. Residents of the area were warned ahead of the attack to evacuate.

Recent airstrikes in Gaza have eliminated 3 senior terrorists including the Hamas Nukhba force commander of the infiltration at Kissufim during the October 7, 2023 attack.

Israel rejected a Hamas proposal for a 5 year ceasefire in exchange for the release of all of the hostages. Official do not see a viable path towards a negotiated deal. A defense official said that Israel is preparing to expand its military operation in Gaza and significantly increase its call-up of reservists.

Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar announced that he will resign on June 15, taking personal responsibility for the agency’s failure to foresee and prevent the October 7 Hamas attack. Prime Minister Netanyahu had tried to remove him from office, sparking legal challenges and widespread public debate.

The Be’er Sheva District Court sentenced 72-year-old Moti Maman from Ashkelon to 10 years in prison on Tuesday after he admitted to contacting a foreign agent and illegally entering an enemy state. Maman traveled to Iran, where he met with Iranian intelligence agents who allegedly sought to recruit him to carry out attacks against Israel.For more, click here.

Tonight begins Yom Hazikaron, the day of remembrance for the soldiers, police and members of the security services who fell defending Israel as well as for the victims of terror. It is followed on Wednesday night by Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s 77th Independence Day. The number 77 spelled out in Hebrew spells “Strength”. May this be a year of physical and spiritual strength for Israel and the entire Jewish nation.
