The Passover holiday has ended, and our total redemption has unfortunately not yet come to fruition. Not much has changed, at least not that we can see.
Warrant Officer G’haleb Sliman Alnasasra, 35, an IDF tracker from Rahat, was killed in an exchange of fire near the security buffer zone along the Gaza border. He is the first soldier to be killed after the collapse of the ceasefire. According to a preliminary IDF investigation, Hamas terrorists are believed to have emerged from an undiscovered tunnel shaft and opened fire with an anti-tank rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), hitting a military vehicle carrying soldiers. The terrorists then detonated an improvised explosive device, killing Alnasasra and wounding three others.
According to a Saudi media report, Hamas has launched a massive recruiting campaign to recruit 30,000 new terrorists. The report said the move is part of a new military strategy relying on guerrilla tactics, as most of the new recruits lack training in conventional combat. Fighting continues in Gaza, as IDF forces strike terrorists, tunnels and weapons depots and terrorists mount guerrilla attacks. According to a WSJ article, Hamas is severely short on cash, and cannot pay their terrorists.
In a statement on Saturday, Prime Minister Netanyahu said Hamas rejected Israel’s proposal to release hostages in exchange for a temporary truce. He said, “If we surrender to Hamas’ dictates now, all the significant achievements we’ve made thanks to our soldiers, our fallen and our wounded, will be lost.”
Israeli prosecutors are preparing indictments against Hamas terrorists held by Israel who participated in the Oct. 7 massacre. Israel is holding 300 of these terrorists, who will not be included in any hostage release deal. The indictments are based on evidence gathered in Gaza and handed over to Israeli and U.S. law enforcement. For more, click here.
In southern Lebanon, an Israeli drone strike killed a senior Hezbollah commander and other strikes destroyed launchers and other terror targets. In Gaza, the IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Islamic Jihad terrorist Ahmad Mansour, who took part in the October 7 massacre and launched rocket attacks against Israel.
