Staff sergeant Inbar Avraham Kav, 20, from Lotem, died of injuries sustained yesterday when a terrorist rammed his truck into him. Another soldier with Kav shot and neutralized the terrorist, who was a 24 year old male from Nablus.
The IDF destroyed the 16 story Mecca tower highrise, the tallest building in Gaza City, last night. The IDF said, “The building contained military infrastructure belonging to Hamas, that was used to advance and carry out terrorist attacks against IDF troops in the area. Prior to the strike, steps were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians as much as possible, including advanced warnings to the population, the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.” At the same time, the IDF struck weapons depots belonging to Hezbollah in the village of Kafr al-Jarmaq in southern Lebanon.
Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with President Tump at the White House today. They will undoubtedly discuss Trump’s new 21-point plan to release all hostages and end the war in Gaza. Trump posted: “We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!” [Not sure Hamas is on board, but we shall see…]
Last night, Netanyahu and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer had a lengthy meeting with Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff in NYC. A large delegation from the Yesha (Judea and Samaria) council flew to NY last night and also met with the Prime Minister, for almost 2 hours, in the light of remarks President Trump made that he will never allow Israel to annex the West Bank in any way.
Arab media is reporting that Israel is working to recruit clan leaders in Gaza to govern areas of the Strip. The sources say that the initiative is aimed not only at weakening Hamas but at preventing the formation of a united Palestinian government to run the Strip after the war.
