The IDF launched strikes Thursday night targeting Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure used to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles, in the Dahieh neighborhood of Beirut. Residents were warned to evacuate ahead of the strikes. The IDF said Hezbollah’s aerial unit, known as Unit 127, was working to produce thousands of UAVs under the direction and funding of Iranian terror elements. It noted that after extensive use of UAVs in recent attacks against Israel, Hezbollah has been ramping up its drone production in preparation for a future war. Also last night, the IDF intercepted a missile fired from Yemen.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that Israel has been arming a Bedouin-affiliated militia based in Rafah to counter Hamas and defended the move, saying that it saves the lives of Israeli soldiers and weakens Hamas. The militia is primarily involved in criminal activities. Most of the weapons were those captured from Hamas. Many fear that the militia could, in the future, use their weapons against Israel. Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrated last night, in support of the government in Jerusalem, and against it in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, authorities will be sending out 50,000 draft notices to Haredi men next month, which has prompted the Haredi parties to threaten to bring down the government. If no agreement is reached, the Knesset could be dissolved and new elections held.
