News Update

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Adam Boehler told hostage families in a meeting on Monday that there’s a significant chance of progress in negotiations for the release of their loved ones in the coming days. The U.S. is reportedly pressing Israel to accept a version of a deal in which Hamas receives American guarantees for an end to the war. Hamas is insisting that any deal be signed by Witkoff himself, who would also be required to shake hands with senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya, which would amount to American recognition of Hamas. Israeli officials view Hamas’ willingness to negotiate a deal short of ending the war as a breakthrough, caused by increased Israeli military pressure.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who visited Israel after the shooting attack outside Washington’s Jewish museum, told FOX News that she met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on behalf of President Donald Trump to discuss Iran. She said that a deal with Iran could happen in the next few days and that, “I asked Prime Minister Netanyahu to cooperate with us so we can make wise decisions together.”

Meanwhile, new U.S. intelligence shows that Israel is preparing for a potential strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and the possibility of a multi-front war. Israeli officials reportedly told their counterparts that they are ready to act militarily if Washington proceeds with a deal they view as unacceptable.

Two new U.S. sponsored humanitarian aid distribution centers opened today in southern Gaza. The centers are designed to prevent Hamas from stealing the aid.

The IDF intercepted 2 missiles fired from Yemen this morning. The missiles did not enter Israeli territory.
