News Update

The IDF announced that 5 soldiers were killed and at least 8 wounded in a tragic friendly fire incident in Jabaliya. 

The soldiers killed were:

– Captain Roy Beit Yaakov, 22 years old, a combat officer in the 202nd Battalion, Tzanchanim Brigade, fell in battle in the north of the Gaza Strip.

– Sergeant Gilad Arye Boim, 22 years old, from Samaria, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion, Tzanchanim Brigade, fell in battle in the north of the Gaza Strip.

– Sergeant Daniel Chemu, 20 years old, from Tiberias, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion, of the Tzanchanim brigade, fell in battle in the north of the Gaza Strip.

– Sergeant Ilan Cohen, 20 years old, from Karmiel, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion, Tzanchanim Brigade, fell in battle in the north of the Gaza Strip.

– Sgt. Betzlel David Shashuah, 21 years old, from Tel Aviv, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion, Tzanchanim Brigade, fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF is investigating the incident, in which a tank apparently fired at a building where the paratroopers were in.

Dozens of rockets, anti-tank missiles and drones continue to be fired at northern Israel. The IDF that a sensitive military surveillance facility was hit in a drone attack near Tiberias. In response, the IDF launched a major strike on a Hezbollah precision-guided missile production facility in the Baalbek region of Lebanon. The air force struck other Hezbollah targets as well.

A soldier was stabbed a wounded by a terrorist near Huwara in Samaria today. The terrorist fled but was captured by IDF forces.

The government has decided to ease regulations to allow up to 300,000 foreign workers into Israel to cover severe shortages.

The US army has competed the construction of a floating pier off the Gaza coast. Humanitarian aid deliveries via the pier are planned to begin in the next few days. For more, click here.
