Hezbollah fired at least 10 missiles at the Acre and Haifa areas this morning. No casualties were reported. In a separate event, the IDF intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, which triggered sirens across the Arava Desert, the Dead Sea area and the southern Negev Desert, including the city of Dimona.
Master Sergeant (Res.), Guy Shabtay, aged 39, from Jerusalem, Coordinator of Religious and Spiritual Services in the 8207th Battalion, 288th (Alon) Brigade, succumbed to his injuries after being severely injured on October 26th, 2024, during combat in southern Lebanon. He was a Torah teacher at the Horev high school in Jerusalem.
Israeli fans in Amsterdam to watch the soccer match between Maccabee Tel Aviv and Axaj were attacked after the match by mobs of Muslim men after the game in various parts of the city. At least 10 Israelis were hurt, with 5 hospitalized. All Israeli have been accounted for. Dozens of attackers were reportedly arrested. El Al sent 2 planes to help evacuate Israelis. Newly appointed Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar flew to Amsterdam this morning, at the request of the Prime Minister. He will meet the Dutch Foreign Minister along with other senior officials. The IDF has forbidden soldiers from traveling to the Netherlands until further notice.
Israel has informed the United States that it plans to open a new aid crossing into Gaza at Kissufim, in the Strip’s center, in the coming days. For more, click here.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed Dr. Yechiel Leiter as Israel’s next United States Ambassador. Leiter served as Netanyahu’s chief of staff at the Finance Ministry and various other political and advisory positions in the past, is an Orthodox rabbi and Judaic studies scholar. Born in Scranton in 1959, he lives in the settlement of Eli in Samaria. He has 8 children. He lost a son, Major (Res.) Moshe Yedidia Leiter, in the current Gaza war.
