News Update

Israel continues to strike Iranian military production and defense industry targets. Israel has set crippling Iran’s defense industry, not only its missile launch capability but also the factories, infrastructure and command networks that sustain it, as one of its central war aims. The IDF said that all critical and essential pre-war Iran targets will have been destroyed by Wednesday. Iran continues to fire around 10 missiles a day at Israel.

Capt. Noam Madmoni, 22, from Sderot, Sgt. Maj. Ben Cohen, 21, from Lehavim, Sgt. Maj. Maksim Antis, 21, from Bat Yam, and Staff Sgt. Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Israeli forces will maintain security control in southern Lebanon up to the Litani River once the campaign ends.

Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s law mandating the execution of terrorists convicted of murder passed 62–48. But the law doesn’t remove the President’s ability to pardon (which is how terrorists get released in hostage deals), it explicitly excludes Nukhba terrorists from receiving the death penalty, and it gives judges the option of “death penalty or life imprisonment” for convicted terrorists. In other words, it basically doesn’t change anything. Israel has had a death penalty for 70 years, originally created to execute Nazi war criminals, but that can technically apply in other cases too.

The holiday of Passover begins Wednesday night and runs through the end of next week. We will not be publishing during the holiday. May we all be blessed with a final and lasting redemption from the evil in the world that seeks to harm us, and may the forces of light finally and completely defeat the forces of darkness.

News Update

Israel continues to expand its campaign against Iran’s military infrastructure. The IDF said it recently struck one of the IRGC’s key military sites embedded within Imam Hossein University in Tehran, the corps’ primary academic and training institution, which it said also serves as an operational asset for the regime. Multiple facilities within the university complex were targeted, to damage Iran’s weapons development capabilities.

A combined barrage (included cluster bombs) from Iran and Lebanon struck central and northern Israel on Monday, triggering sirens from Netanya to the Galilee. The barrage from Lebanon toward northern and central Israel, as far south as Herzliya, included about 10 rockets, some of which were intercepted while others fell in open areas. There was a reported impact at the Bazan oil refinery complex. In the Haifa area, reports indicated multiple impact sites, power outages and structural damage, including a roof collapse. Yesterday, Iran fired a cluster missile towards southern Israel, causing some damage in Beersheva and in a large industrial park south of the city.

Sgt. Liran Ben Zion, 19, from Holon, was killed overnight by anti-tank missile fire in southern Lebanon. He served as a tank crewman in the 9th Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade. Tow other soldiers were seriously wounded from anti-tank fire and another from a drone explosion.

More than 30 soldiers have been wounded in the fighting in southern Lebanon. The goal of the IDF is to create a security buffer deeper inside Lebanese territory, away from the border, to reduce rocket fire on residents of northern Israel.

In other news, Israel invited the U.S. to build permanent military bases in the country, and the Knesset passed the new 2026 budget by a slim majority, along coalition lines. It is the largest budget in the country’s history, at $271 billion.

News Update

In response to continued Iranian missile attacks against civilian targets, Defense Minister Katz said that, “IDF strikes in Iran will step up a level and expand to additional targets and areas that assist the regime in building and operating the weapons used against Israeli civilians.” Ori Peretz, a 43 year old civilian, was killed on an attack in the northern city of Nahariya yesterday. Several others were wounded, none seriously.

The air force struck Iran’s main site for producing missiles and naval mines in the city of Yazd. The military said the site was used to plan, develop, assemble and store advanced missiles intended for launch from cruise vessels, submarines and helicopters against maritime targets. The air force also carried out strikes overnight on ballistic missile production sites and air defense systems across Iran, including launchers and storage sites. A broad range of targets were also hit in Tehran.

[Despite the continuous, round the clock, strikes against Iranian targets, much more work is left to be done to cripple Iran’s offensive capabilities and prevent them from rebuilding. Perhaps that’s why President Trump extended the ceasefire negotiation deadline another 10 days? ]

He was killed along with other senior naval officers. The strike took place in the strategic port city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.

The Iranians reportedly have 27 underground missile “cities”, constructed over the past decade, which are unable to be destroyed by airstrikes. The U.S. and Israeli strikes have been aimed at hitting the entrances and sealing the missile sites, but each base has multiple access points, and even those that have been hit have in many cases been reopened by engineering crews. Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir confirmed that the IDF has dropped over 15,000 bombs on Iran since the start of the current operation. The recent IDF strikes against an Iranian naval base in the Caspian Sea was meant to disrupt the transport of weapons, ammunition, and Shahed drones between Russia and Iran. News Update

Israel continued to strike hundreds of Iranian targets and Iran fired multiple missile barrages overnight, triggering sirens across large parts of Israel. Intercepts were largely successful, though shrapnel and debris caused damage in central areas, including homes in cities like Rehovot. Yesterday, the Haifa oil refinery was hit, most likely by fragments of an interceptor, causing minor damage. The refinery is still largely operational and affected systems are expected to be restored within days.

Israel is adjusting its defensive posture. Due to the volume of incoming fire, the Air Force is reportedly selectively intercepting threats, allowing smaller cluster fragments to fall in open areas in order to conserve interceptor stockpiles.

Prime Minister Netanyahu gave a live press conference yesterday (yes, he is alive!) in which he said that Israel has already inflicted “significant damage” to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, claiming enrichment capabilities have been “severely disrupted” but that Israel’s job is not completed and the war could continue a bit longer. He clearly denied the false rumor that Israel had dragged the U.S. into the war. He added that the war could “create conditions” for regime change. He also touched on the economic and strategic upside, pointing to the possibility of new regional energy routes that bypass Iran, suggesting Israel could play a larger role in global energy transit if Iran’s influence is weakened.

News Update

The war against Iran is 20 days in, Israel and the U.S. continue to bomb the hell out of Iran and eliminate its regime leadership, but the Iranians still have enough capabilities to attack crucial oil and gas fields and infrastructure in the Gulf states and to choke off the Strait of Hormuz to tankers, causing the global oil market to rocket higher.

Yesterday, Israel struck Iranian naval vessels at an Iranian port in the Caspian Sea. The Caspian Sea is bordered by Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Israel also struck the Iranian side of the world’s largest natural gas field, which it shares with Qatar, with full U.S. support — although President Trump later said that he did not want Israel to hit the gas field. Trump then posted, “NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field unless Iran unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar. In which instance the United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before.”

Four Palestinian women were killed and thirteen wounded when an Iranian missile struck a hair salon southwest of Hebron. Yesterday, an elderly Israeli couple was killed by a cluster bomb before they could reach a shelter, in Ramat Gan. Also, a 30 year old migrant worker was killed by shrapnel in central Israel. Iran fired more barrages at Israel overnight and this morning.

In his recent resignation post, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent said, “I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.” Classic Antisemitism 101. Shocking. Unfortunately, he’s not alone in his beliefs, although I do think that he is still in the minority. But it’s real and brewing beneath the surface.

Officials added that there are suspected links to pro-Iranian networks.

To debunk rumors circulating that he was dead, Prime Minister Netanyahu posted a video of himself getting coffee yesterday at a cafe. To watch it, click here.
