News Update

As Israel and the world commemorates one year since the October 7th massacre, Israel is expanding the ground operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, with the addition of 3, battle tested, reserve brigades. Israel is also currently striking targets in Beirut.

Master sergeant (res.) Etay Azulay, 25, from Oranit, and Warrant Officer (res.) Aviv Magen, 43, from Herut, were killed by Hezbollah mortar fire into Israel. Both were members of the IDF’s elite 5515 combat mobility unit. Two other soldiers were wounded in the same incident.

UNIFIL “peace keeping” forces in South Lebanon refused an Israeli request to move five kilometers to the north to avoid the fighting and allow the troops to complete clearing villages of Hezbollah terrorists along the border. Ireland, which has 347 soldiers out of the 10,000 strong UN force, refused the IDF request. The Irish president said, “It is outrageous that the Israel Defense Forces have threatened this peacekeeping force and sought to have them evacuate the villages they are defending. There is an obligation on Israel and Hezbollah to respect the role of UN peacekeepers and their mandate, and do nothing that would put peacekeepers and our troops in particular in harm’s way.” The Israeli embassy in Dublin said in a statement that the accusation that Israeli troops threatened peacekeepers was false and that the IDF asked UNIFIL to move north for their own safety.

According to a new report, the U.S. has spent at least $17.9 billion on military aid to Israel since Oct. 7. For more, click here.

They also fired 5 rockets at central Israel from Khan Yunis.  One rocket fell in Holon and another in Kfar Chabad, near Ben Gurion Airport. Two people were lightly injured. Hezbollah also fired around 40 rockets at northern Israel this morning. IDF forces attacked the launching sites shortly after the rocket fire.

IDF forces entered Jabaliya yesterday. Airstrikes were reported throughout the area, including one strike that hit a former UNRWA facility being used by Hamas terrorists as a command and control center.

Let us all take a moment today to remember the innocents brutally slaughtered on October 7, and the hundreds of brave soldiers, police and members of the security forces who fell battling terrorists on that day and since. And let us pray that Israel emerge victorious in the war against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, and that there should be true peace for Israel and the world.
