Syrian Plane Shot Down
The IDF used 2 Patriot missiles to shoot down a Syrian fighter plane that penetrated 2 kilometers into Israeli airspace yesterday afternoon. The Syrian army confirmed the downing of the plane. According to the IDF, the Syrian fighter jet—a Sukhoi Su-24 or an Su-22—took off from the T4 base, which is being used by Iranian forces in Syria and was attacked by Israel several times in the past, and “was advancing towards Israel at great speed.” The IDF also said it was in contact with the Russians during the incident. Syria has promised to retaliate…eventually.

Gaza Crossing Reopened
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman ordered the reopening of the Kerem Shalom border crossing into Gaza yesterday after a drop in incendiary balloons being launched into Israel. Gas, fuel, medicine and food will be allowed into Gaza through the crossing. But other goods, including construction materials, will not be permitted. The crossing had been closed for 8 days.

IDF Strikes Terrorists
Last night, an Israeli jet attacked a terror squad launching incendiary balloons towards Israel from northern Gaza. Three Palestinians wounded. The strike was launched after the outbreak of a fire near the adjacent Israeli community of Nahal Oz caused by an incendiary balloon.
