Two IDF soldiers were killed and 8 others injured when a crane collapsed during a storm in the newly created buffer zone in northern Gaza. The soldiers are: reserve soldier Nadav Cohen, 21, from Moshav Beit Hanan, 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade and Staff Sergeant Nachman Refael Ben Ami, 20, from Eilat, 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade.
In a post on his Truth Social platform yesterday, President Trump said: “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting. The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth. No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!”
An IDF reserve soldier who served as a security guard at the Sde Teiman detention facility and who admitted to abusing security detainees was convicted Thursday in a military court and sentenced to 7 months in prison. This is the first conviction of an IDF soldier for abusing terrorists at the detention facility in the south. According to the indictment, the reservist punched and beat the detainees with his fists and his weapon while they were handcuffed and blindfolded on several separate occasions. These acts were committed in the presence of other soldiers, some of whom called on him to stop, and were also recorded on the soldier’s cell phone.
The Shin Bet announced that it thwarted an imminent terror attack planned by a terror cell in the Ramallah area. The cell planned to carry out a suicide bombing on a bus in Jerusalem, along with other terror attacks. Several terrorists, with links to Fatah and Hamas, were arrested.
